Woodland FC secures a massive signing!

The Lions are proud to announce the signing of defender Heliot Garcia to bolster their defensive line. Heliot came to our most recent tryout at Garret Park and impressed both Coach Vallecillo, and owner Ross Harris. Heliot has years of experience playing the game, and he was able to answer some questions with the club after winning his signature.

WFC: "When did you start playing soccer?"

Heliot: "I started playing soccer at the age of 2. I would go to my dad's practice and games. He decided to start a team. I got recruited by FC Porto of Kansas, and played in the Heartland League state cup nationals. I also played varsity for my high school team, Shawnee Mission West all 4 years."

WFC: "What football club do you support?"

Heliot: "My favorite team is Chivas de Guadalajara. I've rooted for them since I was born."

WFC: "Why did you choose to sign for Woodland FC?"

Heliot: "I picked Woodland FC because I saw the team posts on Facebook, and I was currently looking for an outdoor competitive league, and I can see a huge following growing with the team."

WFC: "What are your goals with the Lions this season for The Select League?"

Heliot: "For the league, I want to accomplish winning the title. We have to work hard mentally and physically!"

You can watch Heliot play for the Woodland FC Lions this coming April 2024 in The Select League.
