Woodland FC have officially finalized their roster for the upcoming season. This roster is the what will be used to compete in different competitions throughout the season, in hopes of gaining more and renown and glory for the club.
The Royals aim to compete in the Select League and retain their title, compete in the Kansas State Cup, and, if successful in the Select League, advance past US Open Cup qualifiying, and into the tournament proper.
"We have a healthy amount of players returning from last season's team, and loads of new faces to help bolster some areas where we felt we could make the right improvements." owner Ross Harris said. When asked about the tryout process, he said, "We had an amazing tryout period that lasted about 4 weeks. We like to get a good look at our players, and see who will be the right fit, which people are soccer players, and which people have the most criteria we look for that fit our culture and program. There are some players from the previous year who did not make the cut this time. Those were tough decisions to make because of the memories made together last year, and the decision to cut them wasn't an indication of their quality as men. But we stand by the decisions we made this year, and believe in this roster wholeheartedly. I believe Coach Bowler made the right choices on this roster, and that's why we put him where we did."
